Open Day at the Auckland Buddhist Centre

Come and see our beautiful new centre

Group of friends at the Auckland Buddhist Centre (ABC)

The Auckland Buddhist Centre is celebrating its newly renovated centre in Mt Eden by opening our doors to anyone who is interested. You may recall that our old centre was in Grey Lynn for over 30 years. It served us well, but was beyond repair and needed rebuilding. Something that we did not have the money nor energy to pursue ourselves. Two years ago we sold that building and used the money to purchase a building in Mt Eden with great potential. A potential we think we have started to realise after the last six months.

This open day will begin with our regular Saturday morning meditation (advertised separately). And then from 11.30am to 4.30pm we welcome visits from anyone who is interested in seeing our new space.

There will be a brief and informal introduction to what we do at the Auckland Buddhist Centre, our history and where we sit within the wider Buddhist tradition for those who are interested. This will happen on the hour (12 noon, 1pm, 2pm 3pm and 4pm). And regardless of whether or not you join that, there is always the opportunity to look through the centre at your own pace. Some members of our community will be available to answer any questions you might have.

Additionally, if you want to taste meditation in our new meditation halls, we will provide light meditation instruction on the half hour (12.30pm, 1.30pm, 2.30pm, and 3.30pm). So even if it is your first time, that is another option.

So please come and check it out. We'd love to see you.
