Dianne, Flo, Iain, Kate and Michael are becoming mitras within Triratna on this special Buddha Day event.
'Mitra' is a Sanskrit word that literally means 'friend'. In this case, it means making a commitment to their Buddhist life and practicing the Dharma on the shared path we have within the Triratna Buddhist Community.
The ceremony will take place in the context of a traditional three-fold puja (ritual), and each new mitra will be introduced to the sangha (community) by an existing mitra or Order member. We follow with tea and cake!
Tonight's mitra ceremony coincides with our annual Buddha Day celebration, celebrating the life of the historical Buddha, Sakyamuni.
Please bring a plate of finger food to share after the ceremony
Koha (dana or a donation) appreciated.
Before attending, please read our current Covid Guidelines. This is part of how we practice together.
