Our last ritual Friday night puja for the year will be themed around faith and trust.
The Buddha himself felt it was dukkha (unsatisfactory, suffering) not to be in touch with something higher, not to have something higher to look to. We can experience this as trust or confidence in a part of ourselves, in the teachings that lead us from darkness to light, or in something that seems to come from outside ourselves.
These rituals are opportunities to gather together, let go into the beauty of the shrine, mantra, offerings and collective, active practice. They're opportunities to affirm our deepest values and our going for refuge at a time when the pull of the world (and sometimes our smaller selves) is so strong. They're also opportunities to let go into the support of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.
Open to everyone - if you're new, feel free to simply participate to the degree you wish to.
