Get to know others in the sangha whilst coming together for aesthetic and cultural appreciation.
On this evening you are invited to bring along a favourite poem or short piece of prose to share with others. It could be your own or another's creation. Maybe something that sparks a dharmic reflection or two for deeper discussion on the night...
And if you're able to bring a plate of vegetarian nibbles to share that would be wonderful!
This is part of a rich monthly Saturday evening programme of music, poetry, film, interviewing artists and other creative explorations throughout the year.
The Way It Is
There's a thread you follow
It goes among things that change but it doesn't change.
People wonder about what you are pursuing
You have to explain about the thread
But it is hard for others to see.
While you hold it you can't get lost
Tragedies happen, people get hurt or die, and you suffer and get old.
Nothing you do can stop time's unfolding
You don't ever let go of the thread.
