A midsummer magic retreat

Over New Years at Sudarshanaloka

Time lapse river Sara Kurfe

For the past few years we have been running a New Year's retreat. It offers a different way of welcoming in the new year, immersing ourselves in the natural beauty of Sudarshanaloka, coming together with Sangha and exploring the mystery of new beginnings.

For this retreat we'll be exploring the theme of 'Living nature' through walking, sitting, observing and experiencing the elemental nature of life through the senses.

We will do this in the company of spiritual friends, in the spirit of kalyana mitrata (friendship with the beautiful) and nourished by dwelling in the realm of Sudarshanaloka, our land of beautiful vision.

There will be periods of silence, meditation, reflection, ritual and sharing.

We will be walking for two hours and more each day over varying, sometimes steep, terrain on narrow forest tracks, sitting and lying in deep forest glades, circumambulating the stupa, traversing rocky river landscapes and visiting sacred trees. Please consider your health and fitness levels when booking and bring appropriate footwear and clothing. A small day pack, drink bottle, raincoat etc will also be needed.

The retreat is open to those who are familiar with our Triratna meditation practices.
