Sudarshanaloka Stupa Anniversary

Dhardo Rinpoche Stupa: The spiritual heart of Sudarshanaloka

Stupa

The stupa at Sudarshanaloka is one of several within the Triratna Buddhist community containing ashes of Dhardo Rimpoche, significant teacher and friend of Sangharakshita, the founder of the Triratna Buddhist Community.

The consecration of the stupa by Sangharakshita on Parinirvana Day 1997 initiated an annual tradition at Sudarshanaloka of coming together on this weekend to reflect on Parinirvana - the Buddha's ultimate release and to celebrate the life of Dhardo Rimpoche.

This year our Stupa Anniversary, which is a family friendly day, will be celebrated on Sunday 11th February.

The Order is invited to meet for meditation at 7am followed by breakfast at the lower retreat house before a session and ritual for all up at the top retreat centre and stupa from 10.30am -1pm.

Everyone is invited to stay for a bring and share lunch back down at the house followed by an afternoon of enjoying the Sudarshanaloka environs.

Activities for children are being planned to free up parents to attend the main session. Participating children are invited to meet with Dhiraprabha and team at the Community Cabins at 9am. Please email her (dhiraprabha@gmail.com) with children's names, ages and any other information or questions.
