Sangha - Special Puja

Celebrating Shakyamuni's life and teachings

Buddha and lotuses

You are warmly invited to join us in an evening of creativity and magic as we come together to celebrate the Sangha Jewel through a Festive Friendship Puja.

During this Puja, which celebrates Kalyana Mitrata or spiritual friendship, we will be connecting to the importance of spiritual friendship and experience aspects of both, the historical and present day Sangha, as well as touching on the magic of the Arya Sangha - the community of the noble ones.

Puja ( devotional practice) is about the cultivation and expansion of positive emotions including shraddha (faith-confidence).

Sangharakshita describes shraddha as a lifting up of the heart to something higher, touching something higher, experiencing, even if only for a moment, something higher. When we do this with one another it deepens the development of true community so that Sangha can indeed become a real and abiding refuge.

Please join us for an evocative evening as we connect with Shakyamuni, the historical Buddha and those of his early disciples in ancient India.

If you are a beginner and are curious about Pujas and devotional rituals you are very welcome to join us.

Please arrive in time to settle in the shrine room for a 7pm start.
