Sangha night

"Awareness is Revolutionary" series - awareness and friendship

Community pictures

'Indeed, communication and friendship are among the most powerful Dharma methods we have - as well as being among the most rewarding and delightful fruits of Dharma practice.' (From A Buddhist Manifesto by Subhuti)

In the midst of a series of Sangha Night talks about awareness, you might expect to explore such themes as meditation, awareness of the body, thoughts and feelings - perhaps even awareness of Reality with a capital R. But tonight we're exploring awareness and friendship: something that makes a rich and fulfilling Dharma life possible, especially in the context of the modern world. Beyond robes, shaved heads, titles and monastic life, is friendship around our highest ethical ideals, friendship around meaning, and a deep and responsive connection to each other on this basis.

This week Suvarnadhi will share her experience, reflections and learnings on awareness, communication, friendship, and the Dharma life. Join us.

Wednesday nights are a place for people to come together and celebrate community, deepen their knowledge of Buddhism, and their understanding of how to practice it. They are designed for those who have been coming to the centre for a little while. If you have had minimal contact with us, you are best to attend our Intro courses on Tuesday evenings first.
