Sangha night

Vision and Transformation

Community pictures

Tonight we are looking at the "Action" aspect of the path of Vision and Transformation, otherwise and more traditionally known as the Noble Eightfold path, an early and fundamental teaching of the Buddha.

Why is action so important? Well, we are almost always involved in some sort of action in our daily lives. The question of how to act in the best way, of what should be the criterion by which we measure an action, the guiding principle or motive of our action, therefore inevitably arises.

Our behaviour affects both ourselves and others, and brings us straight to the heart of ethics. What is it that makes some acts "right" and others "wrong"? Can we even say that of an action?

Join us this evening as Ratnavyuha helps us go deeper into answering some of the important questions related to human behaviour.

Please note an experimental rearrangement of Sangha night structure - we will be meditating first at 7pm for about half an hour. If you arrive late, don't worry, please just slip in as quietly as you can. We will probably be in the warmth of the room at the top of the stairs.

Wednesday nights are a place for people who have attended our foundation courses to come together and celebrate community, deepen their knowledge of Buddhism, and their understanding of how to practice it.
