New moon puja

Devotional practice night

ABC main shrine room (ABC)

Auspicious events happened in the Buddha's life around the time of the new moon and full moon, which is why we come together to practice as close to these evenings each month as we can.

Puja is a form of devotional ritual that is especially inspiring when done with others. When we take an opportunity to gather and let go into the beauty of the shrine, mantra, readings, offerings and collective practice, we can experience a kind of spiritual uplift that is often difficult to describe. (Often what happens is we get out of our own way.)

Please join us for a traditional and beautiful Buddhist puja, written by Shantideva, an 8th century Indian monk and philosopher, but recited (mostly) in English.

Open to everyone - if you're new, feel free to just soak up the atmosphere in the shrine room and simply participate to the degree you wish to. No bookings necessary - just come along.
