Lokeshvara will be leading a men's study day on Sadhana in the life of Triratna.
Enlightenment is beyond all concepts. How then to honour a goal that by definition cannot be grasped hold of, and stay honouring it, when things get difficult? Or simply to stay true to it year after year?
Sadhana can help, giving us a gateway to the beyond and a glimpse of ourselves at the end of the path. In Triratna this means meditating on a chosen Buddha or Bodhisattva. All elements of a Dharma life can be found in Sadhana.
We will have a look at the main practices given in the order, including those given to Sangharakshita, have a look at some images, at the idea of ungraspable, and what it means to have a goal infinitely big..
It is suggested that you attend the 9 am open meditation at the ABC to start the day but this is optional. We ask that you bring a light lunch to to share. Light lunch so we are not all falling asleep in the afternoon! We are using the ABC website booking system for these day events, rather than having people RSVP to Purna. However, if you have any questions about this event, please contact Purna directly. Thanks.
Suggested donation of $30 to the Auckland Buddhist Centre
Before attending, please read our current Covid Guidelines. This is part of how we practice together.
