We’re counting down to March 8, and we want YOU to be a part of something special!
Join us for this 4-hour walk to raise funds for the refurbishment of our beautiful Buddhist centre.
The full walk is 16km and summits three of Auckland's maunga via the Coast to Coast pathway - but you don't have to do it all. Whether you walk for an hour, the full four hours, or anywhere in between, every step you take brings us closer to our goal. Find sponsors, rally your friends, family, and colleagues, and let's make this a memorable day of movement and community.
Together, we can help breathe new life into our cherished space, all while having fun and supporting a cause close to our hearts. Lace up your shoes, and let’s walk for something meaningful!
There will be time for well-earned rests and to admire the views from each summit (Maungawhau / Mt Eden, Ohinerau / Mt Hobson and Maungakiekie / One Tree Hill. Kids are welcome (accompanied by an adult), as are furry friends (dogs need to be on leash and well trained).
Register below on this page if you'd like to join in with part or all of the walk.
To sponsor Vasudhara, Akasasri & Rohan to do the full 16kms or to get your friends to sponsor you, use our GiveALittle page. Perhaps a starting suggestion of $5 per kilometre?
We'll start at the Buddhist Centre in Normandy Rd with a 7.45am briefing for an 8am start. We'll walk up Maungawhau, Mt Eden then across to Maungakiekie, One Tree Hill. This is a section on the Auckland Coast to Coast walk. Then we’ll walk to Ohinerau, Mt Hobson and back to the Buddhist Centre.
So save the date March 8th, leaving from the Auckland Buddhist Centre in Normanby Road at 7.45am. (We have the 9th as a rain day.)
$20 - $40 for adults and $10 for kids to join.
