Finding balance in a crazy world

Ancient teachings for modern times

Do you experience feelings of anxiety or overwhelm? Do you wish you could figure out how to live with greater ease in the midst of change and upheaval?

On this non-residential retreat weekend at the centre, you'll learn:

  • ways to regulate your nervous system when caught in threat mode
  • how to work effectively with unpleasant experience
  • strategies for finding balance when life seems overwhelming

This is a Buddhist retreat, so we'll be calling on ancient teachings that are highly relevant to us in this modern 'world on fire'. With training, it is possible for each of us to be in this world without being overwhelmed by it. It's even possible for each of us to be more open and connected to pleasure and joy.

Times:

  • 7pm to 9pm Friday 13 January
  • 9am to 1pm Saturday 14 January
  • 9am to 1pm Sunday 15 January

Some experience with the mindfulness of breathing and metta bhavana meditations would be ideal. You can learn these meditations by coming to Saturday morning meditation at 10am or our Monday night Intro to meditation and Buddhism classes.

There's nothing special you need to bring. Wear comfortable clothing.
