Exploring the Arts evening and fundraiser

Music, song and a skills auction at the ABC

Sam RB

Come and join us for a beautiful evening of music, song and poetry from some very talented sangha members and their guests.

Our fine musicians include Sam RB who is both a singer-songwriter and a visual artist. She has three albums, music in the soundtrack of the NZ film ‘The Insatiable Moon‘ and the New Zealand 2012 Olympic Song, Stand Tall, to her name.

“She still sings with a street-eye view and empathy and speaks of the fragility of people’s souls but her poetic lyrics continue to deepen and widen, and when you hear something as beautiful as It Rains Down you know she’s someone special.” Graham Reid - music reviewer.

Our very own Nick Brown-Haysom will be contributing with a few songs of his own and Karunajoti will be reciting some of her unique poetry on the evening as well.

This will be the first event in this years "Exploring the Arts' programme and is a great way to support the ABC whilst coming together for aesthetic and cultural appreciation.

On this night we'll also be raising much needed funds through a Skills and Silent auction. The latter will be open for bidding from Monday 12 March.

Skills offered include massage and reiki sessions with qualified practitioners, vegetarian cooking lessons and a picnic and hike at Karekare beach. The Silent Auction includes guitar lessons with Sam RB, a Greek basket, a Buddhism starter kit, a women in Buddhism kit, a legacy wisdom kit and 2 nights in a wonderful Mangawhai bach!

We will add the list of the Silent Auction items here to view from 12 March and it will also be up on our notice board at the ABC from the same day. You can make your bids by either filling in the sheets at the centre between Monday 12 -17 March or by emailing Karunajoti by no later than 12pm Saturday 17 March.

If you're able to bring a plate of vegetarian nibbles to share on the night that would be much appreciated!
