Dharma Mondays

Come and join us on Monday nights for a Dharma talk followed by a meditation sit

Shakyamuni Buddha

Dharma night is suitable for those who are familiar with our meditation practices and would like to learn more about Buddhism. It is also a popular night for Sangha to drop in and practice together. If you are a beginner but can't get to/or have just started one of our meditation classes you are still welcome to come and join in.

Know Your Mind, Transform your Mind

If you want to get somewhere in particular, it is necessary to know where you currently are at. It is no different with the spiritual life. To make progress in our spiritual life, we need to have a clear and kindly awareness of the attitudes and qualities we bring to our experience. We also need to have a clear and kindly awareness of what is possible. And by knowing ourselves and by knowing what is possible, we are able to more effectively transform ourselves in alignment with these ideals.

This series of seven talks will address this topic. The different speakers will be talking personally about specific regions of the heart and different attitudes towards experience which can be either limiting or spacious. What is the difference between blind faith and confident trust? When is our view simply an opinion and when is it a wise perspective? What is the difference between unhelpful cravings for ‘peace and quiet’ and the helpful yearnings for tranquillity?

Come along and join in this exploration.
