Continuing with the six perfections as the Dharma practise which characterises a Bodhisattva ...
Akasasri will be sharing her personal experience and reflections working with impatience and patience; and energy in pursuit of the good.
This 'pair' of perfections shows us clearly how important it is to have more than one move in our move set when it comes to life: sometimes we require patience, sometimes we require energy. And always responding with only patience or only energy does not allow us to meet every situation in a helpful and creative way (think of the last time you were down and someone responded to you with a superficial 'feel good' reply).
Just to remind you of the full list of the Six Perfections:

We can learn a lot when we listen to other people reflect on their own Dharma practise. The world is a varied place, situations arise differently, different people have different histories and different triggers, and somehow we try to navigate all this variety with the same self. So, helpful to have a good box of varied tools that have a bit of the Universal and Eternally Relevant to them. And the good starter set of 'experience changing' tools is the Six Perfections. Practising them is an effective way to start improving the quality of what we give back to the world without getting drained and disillusioned in the process. We become a sustainable solution ourselves.
Come join us for these Monday night sessions. Discover if there is anything within the teachings of the six perfections that might be helpful. You'll also get to meet like-minded people to have those deeper discussions about life which are so difficult to sometimes find.
The evening starts in the shrine room and ends a little after 8pm. After that, you are welcome to stay for a cup of tea, ask further questions, and talk more about Buddhism.
Dharma Night is suitable for everyone, regardless of their level of experience or exposure to Buddhism. If you like what you find we recommend that you sign up for one of our introductory Buddhist meditation courses. These courses provide a systematic introduction to Buddhist meditation practise.
