Dharma Monday

Sangharakshita - a translator of the Dharma in the West

Sangharakshita

Many people are very grateful for what Sangharakshita has done in making the Dharma accessible to them, in their contemporary lives. He has done this through his writings, through his establishment of the Triratna Buddhist Order and the Triratna Buddhist Community and through his own dedicated practice. This evening we will have a look at his life.

To mark his achievement, The Complete Works of Sangharakshita is to be published in 27 volumes over five years. This collection will be in six 'baskets' - Foundation, India, The West, Commentary, Memoirs, and Poetry and the Arts. This collection represents the definitive edition of his life's work as a Buddhist writer and teacher. The first volume, 'Dr Ambedkar and the Revival of Buddhism' is launched during this month.

Dharma night is suitable for those who would like to learn more about Buddhism. It is also a popular night for regular friends to drop in and practice together. If you are a beginner but can't get to/or have just started one of our meditation classes, you are still welcome to come and join in.

The usual program for these evenings is a talk on some aspect of Buddhism followed by a tea break and a group meditation to end the evening.
