Lokeshvara is one of Triratna's two International Order Convenors. He is visiting Auckland in early March fresh from the Triratna Order Convention at Bodh Gaya marking the 50th year of the Order's founding.
He will talk about the symbol of the bodhi tree, Triratna's own Refuge Tree and being able to locate oneself in myth and conditioned existence; the Vajrasana as the centre of the universe and a symbol of complete integration; and what the Triratna Buddhist Order offers people, and why he believes in it.
Dharma night is suitable for those who would like to learn more about Buddhism. It is also a popular night for regular friends to drop in and practice together. If you are a beginner but can't get to/or have just started one of our meditation classes, you are still welcome to come and join in.
The usual program for the evening is a talk or discussion on some aspect of Buddhism, tea break, then group meditation to end the evening.
