'He illuminates the world, like the moon freed from a cloud'
Verse like this (composed by Angulimala during a retreat where he became Enlightenment), images of diamonds, thunderbolts, red lotuses, rainbow bodies, parables like the burning house and Avalokitesvara's vow, can help us to see beyond the limitations of our ordinary perceptions to what is mysterious, beautiful, unbound. They can inspire faith and awaken wisdom and compassion. Guhyasiddhi will unwrap some of these in the second talk of our 'Approaches to wisdom' theme.
Dharma night is suitable for those who would like to learn more about Buddhism. It is also a popular night for regular friends to drop in and practice together. If you are a beginner but can't get to/or have just started one of our meditation classes, you are still welcome to come and join in.
The usual program for the evening is a talk on some aspect of Buddhism, tea break, then group meditation to end the evening.
