Most of us know that human decency & kindness are what makes a society livable, but we rarely do we realise the full implications of ethics. For Buddhism, the heart of any ethical framework is loving-kindness. It is what makes meditation, compassion and the development of wisdom possible.
In this five week series, we explore the Buddhist ethical guidelines called the Five Precepts via personal experience of people who are trying to apply these in their life.
Kindness
On this evening Sujiva, and Pauline Curtis will be talking about the first ethical guideline or precept which is:
'With deeds of loving kindness, I purify my body...'
Dharma night is suitable for those who would like to learn more about Buddhism. It is also a popular night for regular friends to drop in and practice together. If you are a beginner but can't get to/or have just started one of our meditation classes, you are still welcome to come and join in.
