Dharma Monday

Kindness that shines, burns and blazes forth

buddha

The Buddha said metta (loving kindness) "shines, burns and blazes forth". This evening visiting UK order member Sona will explore metta as an insight practice, higher states of consciousness and ethical conduct. His frame will be the Buddha's three-fold path of sila (ethics), samadhi (meditation) and prajna (wisdom).

Sona has been practicing within Triratna for over 42 years. He is a public preceptor and co-founder of Breathworks, an organisation that trains people in using mindfulness to manage chronic pain and stress. He lives near Adhisthana - Sangarakshita's home - in Ledbury, England.

Dharma night is suitable for those who would like to learn more about Buddhism. It is also a popular night for regular friends to drop in and practice together. If you are a beginner but can't get to/or have just started one of our meditation classes, you are still welcome to come and join in.

The usual program for these evenings is a talk on some aspect of Buddhism followed by a tea break and a group meditation to end the evening.
