Have a very merry Christmas

Yellow Buddha

'Have a very merry Christmas' - As we approach the 25th December we will start to see and hear this phrase more frequently. For some people Christmas may be merry but what does this mean? Enjoying time with family and friends? Or spending money we can ill-afford? Angsting over what to buy for whom and whether it'll be appreciated? Dreading meeting up with Aunt H again? Eating chocolate? Eating too much chocolate? And for others it won't even be a pretence of 'merry'. Maybe a strong sense of lack of happiness in life - lack of connection with family, lack of friends, lack of food, lack of a safe home and shelter???

Instead why don't we wish all a very Metta Christmas! Come along and practice with Akasasri. Tank yourself up with Metta for yourself, friends and family, for this crazy world of ours.

Dharma night is suitable for those who would like to learn more about Buddhism. It is also a popular night for regular friends to drop in and practice together. If you are a beginner but can't get to/or have just started one of our meditation classes, you are still welcome to come and join in.

The usual program for the evening is a talk on some aspect of Buddhism, tea break, then group meditation to end the evening.
