The four lineages of Triratna

Buddhaandstupas

Four rich lineages open up to us when we encounter the Auckland Buddhist Centre. While specific to the Triratna Order and movement these lineages draw on the whole Buddhist tradition going back to the Buddha himself. These lineages give Triratna its particular shape, flavour and emphases.

In this series of talks four Order members will be introducing these unique lineages and exploring how they influence their lives.

Lineage of inspiration with Vajrajyoti and Akasasri:
Our lineage of inspiration leads like a golden thread from the Buddha through the hearts and minds of the teachers of the past to our own deepest aspiratons. Keeping our inspiration alive and our energies flowing into our practice is fundamental to the spiritual life. How do we do this when so many things pull us in other directions?

Dharma night is suitable for those who would like to learn more about Buddhism. It is also a popular night for regular friends to drop in and practice together. If you are a beginner but can't get to/or have just started one of our meditation classes, you are still welcome to come and join in.

The usual program for the evening is a talk on some aspect of Buddhism, tea break, then group meditation to end the evening.
