Buddhist Meditation

Six week Monday evening meditation and Buddhism course

buddha in pond

This year we are combining our popular meditation courses with an introduction to basic Buddhism.

Our six-week course provides instruction in two meditation practices - the Mindfulness of Breathing and the Metta Bhavana. Together they help develop relaxed awareness, clarity and compassion. This course will introduce the essential principles of Buddhist meditation and provide you with the tools needed to work effectively within your meditation practice.

As well as teaching you to meditate, each week we will introduce you to some basic principles that will help you understand what Buddhism is about.

Topics covered will include:
The life of the Buddha, the four noble truths, enlightenment, the wheel of life, conditionality, the three jewels, ethics, the four reminders and more...

There will be time to discuss your experience with others and to attend to any questions you might have along the way.

Everything is provided at the course to support your learning. All you need to do is come along in casual, comfortable clothes.
