Buddhism - Introductory series

The Three Jewels and The Wheel of Life

Three jewels (source: Triratna Buddhist Community)

What are the Three Jewels of the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha all about?

What does it mean to be a Buddhist?

Where does Triratna fit in the scheme of things?

We will explore these questions and define some of the lingo you may encounter at the Auckland Buddhist Centre.

During this six week course we'll also be introducing the ancient Buddhist symbol of 'The Wheel of Life'. It is a symbol which speaks of bondage to thoughts, views, and emotions. It is also a symbol which speaks of freedom, spontaneous energy, and the rich experiences of an open heart.

How can we understand this symbol in our contemporary lives?

Suitable for both beginners and those with some experience.
