Ratnavyuha will be leading this evening on the practice of not turning away in the Buddhist tradition. The Buddha himself learned to never turn away from his experience, but to turn towards it. On the night of his Enlightenment, the Buddha turned towards his cravings, his aversions and even his doubts. And in turning towards these sides of himself, he transformed them and then awoke to the true nature of Reality. We can walk in the Buddha's steps and practice not turning away.
Dharma night is suitable for those who would like to learn more about Buddhism. It is also a popular night for regular friends to drop in and practice together. If you are a beginner but can't get to/or have just started one of our meditation classes, you are still welcome to come and join in.
The program for the evening is a talk on some aspect of Buddhism, tea break, then group meditation to end the evening.
