The creative fire of transformation

The purpose, process and heart of transformation

A traditional image of the dakini Vajrayogini in the sky surrounded by flames

This is a wonderful opportunity to come together on Triratna Day - the anniversary of the founding of our Buddhist community - for a day retreat with visiting UK teacher Suryagupta.

The theme for the day cuts to the heart of our Buddhist lives: transformation. And the figure of the dakini, an energetic being that is said to dance or dwell freely in openness, will be our symbol for the day.

Dakini translates to sky dancer or sky dweller. In Buddhism, the sky is representative of emptiness - the insubstantiality of all phenomena. Therefore the dakini dances or dwells freely in open, latent, creative potentiality. How might we learn to dance or dwell more and more in the space of creative potentiality?

(On a more earthy note, please bring something to share for a vegetarian lunch!)
