An evening of meditation and ritual

Seven-Fold Puja - connecting with our emotions
A slight, but relevant diversion from our theme on the Noble Eightfold Path. Last week Vajrasarasi gave a splendid talk on Right Emotion. This week, we look to move the words of ritual into a felt sense of something beyond the intellect. The emotional understanding of something "more than" is often challenging to intuit, and yet that is the reason most of us come to the Dharma.

This evening, Vajrasarasi will briefly introduce the function of puja in our system of practice, and then Cittamuni will lead us in the traditional seven-fold puja, the beautiful words of which were written by an 8th Century Indian Buddhist philosopher by the name of Shantideva.

Join us as we look to turn words into action, and action into emotion, as we sit, chant, make offerings and soak up the atmosphere in the beautiful space for our current shrine room for one of the last times (see https://aucklandbuddhistcentre.org/news )

Wednesday nights are a place for people who have attended our foundation courses to come together and celebrate community as well as an opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the Buddha's teaching, and their understanding of how to practice it. Now back in person at the Centre, they generally include a talk and discussion, followed by a cup of tea and then a meditation in the shrine room.
