Sangha night

A word from our president

Community pictures

Come along for Sangha Night, an opportunity to deepen our understanding of the Dharma, how it relates to our own lives, and practice together.

Tonight: What is a Buddhist Centre for?

We are very pleased to have Jnanadhara, president of our centre who is visiting from Ireland, talk to us this evening on topics relating to how best we might use our new centre. Now that we have this lovely space, the building work completed, our excited response to its newness settling, and the bills (almost) paid, it seems a good time to turn our attention to its function. Not just for ourselves, but from the wider perspective of the world in which it, and we, exist.

Is the centre just somewhere where you go to learn about Buddhism and to learn to meditate? Or might it be a place where our shared awareness, ethical focus and spiritual positivity could radiate energy that is radically world-changing?

Sangha nights are a place for people to come together and celebrate community, deepen their knowledge of Buddhism, and their understanding of how to practice it. They are designed for those who have been coming to the centre for a little while. If you have had minimal contact with us, you are best to attend our Intro course first, even if you have practised within other traditions.
