Come along for Sangha Night, an opportunity to deepen our understanding of the Dharma, how it relates to our own lives, and practice together.
Almost anything can happen on Sangha Night, but mostly we meditate together, have a 20-30 minute presentation from someone in the community, and then have 20 minutes for small group discussion on the evening's theme.
This is the final part of a mini-series on all things positive. Tonight Vajrasarasi will lead us as we delve into rejoicing in merit, a very popular Buddhist practice within the Triratna world. Why is it so important? And why to some people find it easier than others?
Sthiraratna has very generously volunteered, given this will be his last Sangha Night for a while, to give you some practice. In other words, he will be the reluctant subject (someone's got to do it) about whom you can describe things you appreciate.
We will also have a very special guest, Jnanagarbha, Convenor of the International Council for Triratna, and we hope he will talk a little on what his role is, and how it affects us at the ABC.
Sangha nights are a place for people to come together and celebrate community, deepen their knowledge of Buddhism, and their understanding of how to practice it. They are designed for those who have been coming to the centre for a little while. If you have had minimal contact with us, you are best to attend our Intro course first, even if you have practised within other traditions.
By donation (suggested $15). (Cash or EFTPOS)
Nothing to spare tonight? Come along anyway. You’re always welcome.
Before attending, please read our current Covid Guidelines. This is part of how we practice together.
I came into contact with the Dharma in 2004 in the UK, arriving in Auckland NZ in 2006 with a job offer and knowing that a Triratna Centre existed…
