Intro to meditation and Buddhism

Mindfulness of Reality

Vairocana Buddha turning the wheel of the Dharma

This class is the place for newcomers to the Auckland Buddhist Centre to learn meditation and the basics of Buddhism.

Note: We are using the Ponsonby Community Centre as a temporary location for these classes while we find a new home.

TONIGHT: MIndfulness of Reality
What do we mean when we talk about seeing things as they really are? This week we look at some of the central insights of Buddhism. How does mindfulness wake us up to the fact that all things arise and pass away dependent on conditions? How can we start to realise this truth for ourselves? This will be supported by meditation instruction on the breath and / or body.

This class happens every Monday night at 7pm, even on public holidays. It's a rolling 11-week introductory programme. You can join on any Monday night. Classes are designed as much as possible to stand alone for this purpose. But committing to all 11 nights over time will give you the thorough foundation you need to establish your own meditation practice, and step confidently into other classes and retreats.
