Intro to meditation and Buddhism

Who was the Buddha?

Vairocana Buddha turning the wheel of the Dharma

This class is the place for newcomers to the Auckland Buddhist Centre to learn meditation and the basics of Buddhism.

Note: We are using the Ponsonby Community Centre as a temporary location for these classes while we find a new home.

TONIGHT: Who was the Buddha?
Tonight's class dives into the life of the Buddha and clears up who / what the Buddha is, what enlightenment means, and how it's meaningful for us in 2023. We'll also explore a breath-based meditation practice.

This class happens every Monday night at 7pm, even on public holidays. It's a rolling 11-week introductory programme. You can join on any Monday night. Classes are designed as much as possible to stand alone for this purpose. But committing to all 11 nights over time will give you the thorough foundation you need to establish your own meditation practice, and step confidently into other classes and retreats.
