We invite you to bring your rupa or another significant object from your home shrine to place on the shrine during this puja (ritual). It will be symbolic of the individual practice and commitment of each member of our sangha.
It's an auspicious time to gather for a puja, as we'll be on the cusp of a full moon (which is Sunday). Due to our temporary building closure, it's been some time since we held a puja, and many of us have been missing the opportunity to practice together in this way. And more than that, it's important we express our gratitude to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas for their support in our centre transformation so far, and ask for their ongoing support.
As we are in the territory of transformation collectively as a sangha, Padmasambhava will be a key figure in this puja.
We only have the main hall of the Quaker centre booked, so we won't be sharing tea and biscuits on this occasion. Shared practice and each other's presence will allow a very special form of connection during the puja itself.
For those who have not attended one before, puja is a form of devotional ritual that is especially inspiring when done with others. When we take an opportunity to gather and let go into the beauty of the shrine, mantra, readings, offerings and collective practice, we can experience a kind of spiritual uplift that is often difficult to describe.
Open to everyone - if you're new, feel free to just soak up the atmosphere and simply participate to the degree you wish to.
