Evolution, Capitalism and the Buddha

Dharma Monday

buddha on wall street

Vaddhaka Linn, the author of The Buddha on Wall Street, will be giving the talk on this evening. We'll also be introducing his most recent book, with some copies available for purchase.

Evolution, Capitalism and the Buddha

Capitalist economics is based upon a narrow evolutionary view associated with social Darwinism and a distorted interpretation of the survival of the fittest. Can modern approaches to evolution help to develop a new approach to economics more in line with buddhist values?

Dharma night is suitable for those who would like to learn more about Buddhism. It is also a popular night for regular friends to drop in and practice together. If you are a beginner but can't get to/or have just started one of our meditation classes, you are still welcome to come and join in.

The program for the evening is a talk on some aspect of Buddhism, tea break, then group meditation to end the evening.
