Dharma Mondays

Come and join us on Monday nights for a Dharma talk followed by a meditation sit

Shakyamuni Buddha

Dharma night is suitable for those who are familiar with our meditation practices and would like to learn more about Buddhism. It is also a popular night for Sangha to drop in and practice together. If you are a beginner but can't get to/or have just started one of our meditation classes you are still welcome to come and join in.

This will be our first Dharma night for 2015 and also the beginning of series of talks by visiting Order members.

Windows into the Dharma: Personal Practice and Reflections from Order members

'Looking Up From These Hills'

Our first guest speaker in this series is Jnanadhara who is originally from Whangarei and came across the Triratna Buddhist Community in 1996 through the Wellington Buddhist Centre. He was ordained in the UK in 2003 and moved to Dublin the following year where he as been teaching ever since. He has been the chairman there since 2010.

This talk will explore the fundamental human experience of reverence through the work of New Zealand poet James K. Baxter. It will go on to show how reverence receives its most vital and complete expression as going for refuge to the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha.
