The four lineages of Triratna

Buddhaandstupas

Four rich lineages open up to us when we encounter the Auckland Buddhist Centre. While specific to the Triratna Order and movement these lineages draw on the whole Buddhist tradition going back to the Buddha himself. These lineages give Triratna its particular shape, flavour and emphases.

In this series of talks four Order members will be introducing these unique lineages and exploring how they influence their lives.

Lineage of practices with Akampiya:
Our lineage of practices have ancient and mysterious roots. Yet they are very accessible and effective methods to transform every aspect of our hearts and minds which cause us to feel restricted, trapped, or superficial. Even simple practices can have powerful effects in our lives if we use them. Most importantly our lineage of practices release the Enlightening qualities of our hearts and minds and allow them to flourish.

Dharma night is suitable for those who would like to learn more about Buddhism. It is also a popular night for regular friends to drop in and practice together. If you are a beginner but can't get to/or have just started one of our meditation classes, you are still welcome to come and join in.

The usual program for the evening is a talk on some aspect of Buddhism, tea break, then group meditation to end the evening.
