Four rich lineages open up to us when we encounter the Auckland Buddhist Centre. While specific to the Triratna Order and movement these lineages draw on the whole Buddhist tradition going back to the Buddha himself. These lineages give Triratna its particular shape, flavour and emphases.
In this series of talks four Order members will be introducing these unique lineages and exploring how they influence their lives.
Lineage of teachings:
In the first talk in this series, Ratnavyuha will show us how Triratna's lineage of teachings illuminates and simplifies the complex network of dharmic teachings that has developed in the 2,500 years since the Buddha first taught. He will identify key dharmic principles and the signposts they provide to this network of teachings, helping make them relevant and accessible to all of us living in 21st Century Auckland.
Dharma night is suitable for those who would like to learn more about Buddhism. It is also a popular night for regular friends to drop in and practice together. If you are a beginner but can't get to/or have just started one of our meditation classes, you are still welcome to come and join in.
The usual program for the evening is a talk on some aspect of Buddhism, tea break, then group meditation to end the evening.
