Dharma Monday

mitra ceremonies

buddha face

After attending the Auckland Buddhist Centre for more than 6 months, some people choose to become a mitra. In a nutshell, becoming a mitra is one of the first steps in your commitment to a Buddhist path of personal dvelopement. If you want to read more about becoming a mitra, click here.

On this evening, we'll be celebrating the growing commitment of Anna, Francesca, Robyn, Misako & Matthew to practising the path of the Buddha-Dharma within the context of the Triratna Buddhist Community.

This mitra ceremony will be held in the context of a seven-fold puja (a Buddhist devotional practise). You are welcome to join us.

The evening starts in the shrine room and ends a little after 8pm. After that, you are welcome to stay for a cup of tea, ask further questions, and talk more about Buddhism.

Dharma Night is suitable for everyone, regardless of their level of experience or exposure to Buddhism. If you like what you find we recommend that you sign up for one of our introductory Buddhist meditation courses. These courses provide a systematic introduction to Buddhist meditation practise.
