Remembering Antony Raymont
This evening we will be reflecting on the contributions and character of our friend and Sangha member Antony Raymont, who died just prior to the New Year. Antony was a member of the Sangha Night team whose talks were regularly praised for their depth and originality.
Tonight Ratnavyuha will give some personal reflections on Sangha, the death of Sangha members, and the Dharma journey that sharing in these experiences together (including rejoicing in the merits of those who have died) has to offer.
The theme of impermanence that inevitably comes up will lead into events in the coming weeks that include Parinirvana (commemoration of the Buddha's death), and ritual preparations for letting go of our current centre.
Wednesday nights are a place for people who have attended our foundation courses to come together and celebrate community as well as an opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the Buddha's teaching, and their understanding of how to practice it. Now back in person at the Centre, they generally include a talk and discussion, followed by a cup of tea and then a meditation in the shrine room.
