Buddhism - Introductory series

ways to cultivate more happiness and meaning in everyday life

Buddha Earth Touch

The Buddha taught to people living everyday lives, albeit over 2500 years ago. They were struggling with the problems of India at the time, trying to live a more meaningful and happy life. And many of the things he taught those people, 2500 years ago, are still helpful for people living today. For example, the beneficial Buddhist practice of mindfulness meditation has taken the world by storm.

Are there other useful practices for everyday living? Yes, of course. On this course we are going to look at four of them. One each week.

What are they? Not really that important, actually. The main reason to attend this course is not whether or not the list looks interesting, but whether or not you want to live a more meaningful and happy life? Whether or not you believe that perhaps, just perhaps, the ancient wisdom of Buddhism might offer some tips. I think it does.

No matter what is on the list. If everyone attending this course is interested in exploring Buddhist teachings that lead to greater happiness and meaning, we'll all have a very productive and worthwhile exploration.
