This Queen's birthday holiday weekend retreat is open to all Mitras and Order members of the Triratna Buddhist Community. The 'extra' day makes the experience of retreat so much more fulfilling.
On this weekend, we'll explore ways to work confidently and creatively with everyday tensions, dilemmas, problems and difficulties. In addition to those which arise in our spiritual lives. There will be lots of meditation, reflection and sangha building.
Sangharakshita has made a distinction between the 'difficulties' verses the 'problems' we face in our lives. A difficulty is something you can simply work through with effort, patience, and skill. A problem is something which requires a change of 'being' to see your way through to a solution. As human beings trying to live meaningful lives, the situation we face is an existential problem. Our spiritual solution will not be a matter of playing the game of Samsara with more talent and better effort.
We encourage all Triratna mitras to attend as many of these Order Mitra retreats as possible during the year.
