Gearing up for the end of the year can be a stressful and distressing time for many, and that's on top of a year that has already proven to be unpredictable and challenging. In this series of talks we will focus on the ancient techniques taught by the Buddha to calm the mind and bring a peaceful heart to our circumstances.

Feeling the breath

Tonight Antony will focus on the sensations of the breath in the body. The breath is with us from the moment we are born, and stays with us to the moment of our departure. Always available and the source of life itself, focusing on the breath allows our mind to calm itself and gather in stillness and concentration.

Antony will share his experiences of being with the breath and make some practical suggestions as to how to connect with it more deeply.

Throughout this series on the mindfulness of breathing we will:

  • focus on how to manage uncertainty and languishing
  • discuss how to support our mental health and well-being
  • introduce practical activities which can be done throughout the day to increase emotional resilience

Wednesday nights are a place for people who have attended our foundation courses to come together and celebrate community as well as an opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the Buddha's teaching, and their understanding of how to practice it.
