TONIGHT: Dying To Be Free - Spiritual Death

Spiritual death doesn’t sound very inviting. Death of any sort requires letting go, relinquishing of control, and facing into loss. Spiritual death is no exception. The thing to let go of is not our life, but our concept of self. From a young age we train ourselves into thinking something is “me” or “not me,” and have very specific ideas about what that “me” is.

Buddhism invites us to loosen our self concept, our fixed ideas of who we are so that we may know our true nature. In letting go of the self we know, we find ourselves both freer and more deeply connected with all of life.

Tonight Malcolm and Amaradipa will explore how Spiritual death has shown up in their lives and how it has enabled them to transform their self concept.

Wednesday nights are a place for people who have attended our foundation courses to come together and celebrate community as well as an opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the Buddha's teaching, and their understanding of how to practice it.
