TONIGHT: The Three Jewels

Tonight Mary Anna will explore the Buddha jewel. The Buddha was human, just like us, and didn't obtain divinity on his death. He is not God, and has no super powers to intervene in our daily lives. What then is the point of holding someone just like us in such reverence?

Mary Anna will explore the 3 facets of the Buddha - the historical person whose life serves as model to guide us; the archetypal Buddha who represents qualities for us to develop and grow within ourselves; and the mystical Buddha who invites us to transcend our everyday experience and connect with something higher than ourselves.

When we engage with the Buddha in this way, we realise there is no Buddhism without the Buddha.

Wednesday nights are a place for people who have attended our foundation courses to come together and celebrate community as well as an opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the Buddha's teaching, and their understanding of how to practice it.
