One-off event - a report on Buddhafield

Buddhafield Festival 2023
Buddhafield is a collaboration of Buddhists involved with the Triratna Buddhist Community in the UK. They run a programme of camping activities in the south of England, focused around the teaching and practice of Buddhism and Buddhist meditation. They are best known within the world-wide Triratna movement for their annual Buddhafield Festival (commonly just known as "Buddhafield"). (See https://buddhafield.com/ for more details.)

We are delighted to mark the return of Toni, one of our Sangha Night team, from a trip to the UK where she experienced the festival in Somerset first-hand. The theme for this event was "liberation through imagination", and included song, dance, arts and crafts, yoga, meditation, and play! While a family-friendly event that is open to everyone, it provides Buddhist teaching, workshops and ritual, under sun and stars.

Tonight Toni will share her impressions of the Festival, which was also attended by at least two other Auckland sangha members that we are aware of.

Wednesday nights are a place for people who have attended our foundation courses to come together and celebrate community, deepen their knowledge of Buddhism, and their understanding of how to practice it. They generally include a talk and discussion, a social cup of tea and meditation.
