We all like to receive praise. It feels good, bolsters our self esteem, and allows us to feel secure within ourselves. We also hate being blamed. We may feel resentful, angry and our sense of self shrinks with recriminations and self loathing. Jay Garman will explore tonight the ways in which we try to keep our self of self intact by holding on to praise and avoiding blame. He will discuss his experience of working with these 2 states, and suggest ways in which we can be less reliant on them as a barometer of self worth.
Wednesday nights are a place for people who have attended our foundation courses to come together and celebrate community as well as an opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the Buddha's teaching, and their understanding of how to practice it.
