Well-being on retreat

Caring for each other

The word mindfulness in script

With Covid in the community, we ask you to help care for others by taking a RAT test on the day your retreat starts. Please stay home if your test is positive, or if you're unwell with something that could likely be spread to others (even if your RAT test is negative).

Our policy in the case of illness is to refund you in full, less food costs if the food has already been purchased. We usually buy food on the day the retreat starts, or one day prior.

Vaccine passes are not in use.

The ABC council made these choices with the following considerations in mind:

  • holding the aspiration to make the Dharma accessible to all alongside an aspiration to care for each other's well-being
  • Covid is now widespread in the community and vaccine requirements in wider society have loosened
  • RAT tests are now easily available
  • the vaccination rate in NZ (and particularly amongst our sangha) is extremely high
  • we need to consider more than just Covid over the coming months - with lower immunity due to lockdowns, colds and flu are likely to be challenging this winter
