Welcome to our three new Order members!
An ever-widening circle, the sangha grows
Last night, we welcomed three new Order members to the centre. (Pictured left to right: Maitrivadin, Vajradhi and Akashasimha.)
The shrine room was packed to greet them, and each of them shared the response they had to their name given at ordination, and how it has been for them arriving back from their long retreats. Their preceptors rejoiced in their fine qualities, and we heard short reflections from three Order members ordained for different lengths of time - 1 year (Saradaya), 12 years (Vasudhara) and 51 years (Purna) - on their expectations at ordination and what has actually unfolded on the post-ordination journey. And of course, we celebrated with cake.
Maitrivadin and Akashasimha were ordained in September at Sudarshanaloka retreat centre. Vajradhi was ordained in Victoria, Australia in October.
