Our building consent has come through from Auckland Council and renovations are underway!
The fine people at Crate Innovations have started on site, with demolition and plumbing work in progress already. The contractors are keen to work over the holiday period, so the site will be busy over that time.
Guhyavajra (pictured on site with Emma and Beth) from the Sudarshanaloka Retreat Centre team has come up from the Coromandel to collect a few items that can be re-used down there.
And James (Stevens Lawson architects) and Suvarnadhi are in the process of getting all the client-supplied items together, like bathroom fittings and shrine room lights.
A big thank you to James, Fraser and Rose at Crate for all the work that's gone into getting the project off the ground in a way that meets our budget, James at Stevens Lawson who continues to do an amazing job (and it certainly wasn't the smoothest of consent processes he's managed), and our body corp team and neighbours who have been pragmatic, helpful and even enthusiastic!
