The Sydney Buddhist Centre sangha has been offering online meditation to people in Australia and would like to make it accessible to New Zealand sangha.
The online ‘Morning Meditation’ was started during lockdown as a way of connecting and practicing together, and continues to fulfil that role. There are regular attenders, as well as people who drop in and out. The meditation experience of participants varies from many years to first timers. Currently it is a silent meditation with bells at the beginning and end, although they are in the process of including some more optional input.
Participants find the regularity and joint practice supportive and helpful in maintaining a regular meditation practice. There is a lovely sense of friendship, and it is a great opportunity to connect with people we would not normally meet. It also gives people who are unable to meditate with others an opportunity to do so.
Feel free to join in Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9 a.m. NZ time.
